NOVEMBER 2025

As the cool air sweeps through Hobe Sound, we mark our six month anniversary!

We have had the privilege of meeting remarkable individuals who bring diverse backgrounds, stories and talents to our club, all who have contributed to the building of community here at the Hobe Sound Tennis Center. Our shared passion for tennis and pickleball has been at the heart of everything we do. From group lessons to casual games and rookie teams, we've created opportunity to connect, learn and celebrate these sports together. The camaraderie and encouragement among members ensure that everyone feels included and motivated to pursue their love of the game We renew our commitment to foster a supportive, fun, and challenging environment for all.

There is NO Club without Pros, Staff and Members! I am grateful to all of you and thank you for embracing your work and participation! Whether you are a seasoned player or new to the courts, November brings fresh opportunities to play, learn, connect and enjoy!

We’re six months in and going strong!

Join us on Saturday, November 8th from 8:30 to 11:30 AM for a special morning dedicated to our members.

8:30 - 9:00 AM: Breathwork and stretching

9:00 - 10:30 AM: Organized tennis and pickleball drills

10:30 - 11:30 AM: Relax and enjoy refreshments provided by 3 Natives Hobe Sound & try the cold plunge provided by Sweathouz (bring your swimsuit)

This event is complimentary and open to members only. A great way to celebrate, meet new faces, and catch up with old friends.

Giving Tuesday, December 2

This Giving Tuesday, we’re inviting our community to come together in support of the Hobe Sound Tennis Academy. Our goal is to raise $1,500, which will help provide local youth with access to tennis, mentorship, and life skills through our Academy programs.

A donation of just $25 gives one deserving junior player the opportunity to participate in a 1-hour Academy session - a chance to learn, grow, and build confidence both on and off the court.

Champions for Chimps

HSTC recently donated 1500 used tennis balls to Save the Chimps, a sanctuary located in Fort Pierce, Florida, that provides lifelong care for rescued chimpanzees.

The chimps use the balls for enrichment and play, and they absolutely love them!

We plan to continue donating on behalf of the club as part of our ongoing recycling and community outreach efforts. It’s a small way for HSTC to make a big difference for some very happy chimps!

League Play is Underway!

HSTC is proudly competing in several local leagues this season, including Women’s 3.0 and 3.5, Men’s 7.5 Combo, and Mixed 8.0 Doubles.

A big thank you to our team captains - Brett Peterson, Kristin Schutz, Rich Montero, and Simone Incendy - for their leadership, organization, and dedication to our players. It is an arduous and thankless job and they are managing it with grace!

Come cheer on our teams and show your HSTC spirit as they represent our club on and off the court! Go HSTC!

First Junior Academy Tournament a Success!

Our first Hobe Sound Tennis Academy Tournament took place on Saturday, October 25, and it was a fantastic day of friendly competition!

Our young players showed great enthusiasm, effort and sportsmanship while their families and friends watched from the sidelines.

A big thank you to our coaches and volunteers for organizing a smooth and exciting event, and congratulations to all of our juniors who participated!

We can’t wait to see everyone back out there for the next one and to start building their points on November 22.

USTA Wheelchair Tennis Program at HSTC

We’re proud to share that several of our coaches and staff have completed wheelchair tennis training.

If you know someone who would like to participate in an upcoming wheelchair tennis class, please let us know.

Important: Please book the ball machine at least 2 hours in advance so we can have it set up and ready to go!

Curious About Your Rating?

You can schedule a 30-minute evaluation* with Coach Tom Wallace for tennis and Coach Denise Ryan for pickleball to determine your rating. It’s a great way to better understand your game and ensure you’re matched with players at your level.

Tip of the Month

Watch the Ball All the Way In
It sounds simple, but it’s one of the most overlooked fundamentals in both tennis and pickleball. Most errors happen because players lift their head too soon or take their eyes off the ball before contact. Focus on seeing the string or holes on the ball and keep your head still even after the hit. You’ll be surprised how much cleaner and more consistent your contact becomes!

OCTOBER 2025

Despite almost daily cancelations due to rain, September was an active month. It is encouraging to see our energetic and optimistic members make the most of every dry moment on the court! We are especially grateful to our maintenance crew who have been working hard to ensure that the courts are in good condition even after heavy rainfall.

SEPTEMBER 2025

Big shout out to those players who sweated it out with us our first summer on court. As the summer sun and heat grace our courts, it is wonderful to see so many of you out serving, volleying, and rallying with enthusiasm. Our gratitude continues...

JULY 2025

🎉 Summer Highlights at Hobe Sound Tennis Center! 🎾🏓
It’s hard to believe it’s only been two months since we opened our doors - and what a fantastic start it’s been!

MAY 2025

We are open! 10 tennis courts and 6 pickelball courts are open and ready for play. Stay tuned for construction updates on the clubhouse.

APRIL 2025

Construction is complete. Waiting on Martin County approvals. Opening date will be announced soon.

FEBRUARY 2025

Construction is ongoing. Pickleball courts are nearly completed. Once the dust settles from the tennis court construction, lines and nets will go up. Surfacing on the tennis courts has started.

OCTOBER 2024

Construction on the Pickleball courts has begun. First layer of paving has been poured. Tennis courts have been staked. Utility work is ongoing.

SEPTEMBER 2024

The project is moving forward slowly; the right turn lane on US 1 is complete; the core infrastructure is being completed; then comes the parking lot, then the lighting, then the courts….permits are all pending and we try to accomplish something every day! We hope to begin operating in early 2025. In the beginning we will have courts, a temporary office and bathroom trailer. That will probably be the case for at least a year while we proceed with building the clubhouse. We wanted to get the courts going first! With a little luck and lots more hard work, perhaps we will be able to organize community teams in the spring, to begin in the fall of 2025.

We are now accepting tax deductible donations for the Hobe Sound Tennis Academy.

AUGUST 2024

Construction is under way for the Hobe Sound Tennis Center and Hobe Sound Tennis Academy!

We broke ground and started clearing the land in October 2023. We anticipate the courts to be ready for play in early January 2025. Initially on opening we will be offering 10 clay tennis courts and 6 pickleball courts. Two of the tennis courts and all six pickleball courts will be lit. An office and restrooms will also be available.

Construction on the clubhouse will soon follow and it is planned to open in 2026. The clubhouse will feature:

Gym
Yoga studio
Childcare room
Classroom
Massage room
Pro shop

Phase 3 of the project will include adding a swimming pool and soccer field.
